Everglades Officials Thinking of Restricting Power Boats

Ironies abound throughout the world. And the National Park Service isn't immune from them.
For instance, while Yellowstone officials believe as many as 750 snowmobiles a day in the park won't impact the resources, the wildlife, employees or visitors despite studies that indicate otherwise, officials at Everglades National Park are thinking of reducing motorboat use in their park to protect resources.
Strange, no?
So while we wait while Yellowstone struggles with its draft environmental impact statement for winter use in Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks, the folks at Everglades are for the first time in more than a quarter-century refreshing their general management plan that guides life in the park. It touches everything from employee housing to how people can enjoy the park.
