Search Enters Sixth Day for Man Missing In Joshua Tree National Park

After five days of searching in 100-degree-plus weather in Joshua Tree National Park, searchers have no clues as to what happened to a 65-year-old Georgia man.

Thursday marked the sixth day in the hunt for William Ewasko, who failed to return last Friday from a hike into the park's Quail Mountain area via the Juniper Flats Trail.

Since the Marietta, Georgia, man went missing, more than 100 volunteers have spent 1,100 hours looking for the man. On Thursday teams of agency and volunteer ground searchers resumed their search of the Quail Mountain area.

The weather forecast for the area was for sunny skies with a high temperature near 106 degrees. Winds of 12-15 mph with gusts to 21 were predicted for the afternoon.
