Park Service Releases New Guidelines For Donations And Philanthropic Partnerships

The National Park Service today updated its guidelines for donations and philanthropic partnerships, clarifying how and where donors can be acknowledged – naming rights in parks still will not be permitted – and expanding the range of partner opportunities – including with individuals and start-ups, but also corporations that produce or distribute alcohol.

Winter Paddling Clinic And First Day Float Coming To Ozark National Scenic Riverways

Ozark National Scenic Riverways and Missouri State Parks will be hosting a Winter Paddling Clinic on December 31 and First Day Float on January 1. The Winter Paddling Clinic will be held at Echo Bluff State Park in conjunction with their New Year’s Eve celebration. On January 1, paddlers will celebrate the new year with a float on the Current or Jacks Fork Rivers, and then gather at Current River State Park in the afternoon for a bonfire and warm beverages.

A 12.5-Acre Christmas Present For Rocky Mountain National Park

A 12.5-acre privately owned tract of land in the Wild Basin area of Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado was poised to go on sale, a move that could have led to a bigger developed footprint in the park, when the Rocky Mountain Conservancy stepped in to purchase it with help from the Wilderness Land Trust and the National Park Trust.
