Nightly Closures For Repairs To Mary's Rock Tunnel In Shenandoah National Park

Beginning May 16, Shenandoah National Park will close a portion of Skyline Drive between the gate near Panorama Comfort Station (mile 31.7, just south of the Thornton Gap Entrance Station) and Hazel Mountain Overlook (mile 33.0) to do necessary maintenance and repairs to Marys Rock Tunnel.

'Not A Pretty Picture': Biscayne National Park Works To Remove Underwater Debris

As Vanessa McDonough scanned the ocean floor off the South Florida coast, she spotted an empty beer bottle among the fish, corals, and sponges protected by Biscayne National Park. Only the bottle wasn’t empty. Upon closer examination, a small fish had swam inside, and pebbles and shells had blocked the exit. “The poor fish was a prisoner in this Corona bottle,” she said.

Video Of Vandals At Devils Hole Released By National Park Service

In a bid to arrest those responsible for vandalizing a warm spring with an endangered fish species, Death Valley National Park officials on Monday released a short video showing three men riding up to the Devils Hole unit of the park in an off-road vehicle and roaming around the grounds. Part of the video is from a camera in the warm spring itself. That segment shows one of the men in the water.
