Rebecca Johnson
Biography
Although I grew up in New York City, I've long had a passion for the great outdoors. I spent many of my weekends growing up in either Massachusetts' Berkshires or in New York's Adirondacks. Shortly after graduating from college, I worked for the National Parks Conservation Association and helped raised funds for both NPCA's national and regional programs. Working for NPCA exposed me to the wide ranging cultural, historic and natural resources that our national parks offer, and I truly believe America's national parks are a national treasure and they should be cared for and funded appropriately.
I currently reside in our nation's capital, Washington DC, where I am fortunate enough to be surrounded by the National Mall and various other national park units, including Shenandoah National Park, Assateague National Seashore, C&O Canal National Historic Park, Great Falls, Catoctin Mountain Park, and various other national parks that are windows to our past, homes to some of our rarest plants and animal species, and places where every American can go to find inspiration, peace, and open space.
Professionally speaking, I work within the advertising and marketing profession as an Interactive Strategist, where as an expert in interactive marketing media and emerging technologies - I work to ensure that our clients' marketing programs are extended appropriately to digital media.
Additionally, I write for the up and coming DC blog, WeLoveDC.com and occasionally contribute to other blogs on both a personal and professional level.
