You can hang national parks from Alaska on your holiday tree this winter. This one can double as a sun catcher/Alaska Geographic

You can enjoy a small slice of Alaska's national parks this holiday season and help out Alaska Geographic at the same time.

Not familiar with Alaska Geographic? The nonprofit organization works in partnership with public land agencies to connect people with Alaska’s national parks, forests, refuges and conservation lands through the creation and delivery of exceptional educational products and programs.

Since 1959, Alaska Geographic has been the nonprofit education partner of Alaska’s spectacular national parks, forests, and refuges; the organization supports education programs and publications, and raises funding for youth programs, stewardship projects, and arts and education programs. Together with its public land partners, Alaska Geographic is dedicated to sharing Alaska’s rich natural and cultural heritage.

During a visit to Alaska and Glacier Bay National Park some years back I was able to find some old editions of their magazines that had some wonderful stories on the park.

If you're looking for tree ornaments or other memorabilia associated with parks in the state, Alaska Geographic offers those, as well. The selection includes one celebrating Katmai National Park and Preserve that employs glacial silt in the design, while the ornament for Kenai Fjords National Park is made out of wood.

The ornament for Denali National Park and Preserve, meanwhile, "can double as a holiday decoration or as an all-year sun catcher. The design features two park rangers on a dark aurora borealis night with Denali in the background."

Another Katmai ornament appropriately is in the shape of a brown bear, made from wood.

You can check them all out at this website.
