Cape Hatteras National Seashore Announces Off-Road Vehicle Permit Print-At-Home Option

Beginning in mid-March, if you want an off-road vehicle permit for Cape Hatteras National Seashore in North Carolina, you'll be able to print one at home. Seashore officials say the changes are being made to increase user convenience, provide new options for park visitors wishing to purchase an ORV permit, and increase efficiency by reducing the cost associated with collecting permit fees.

Denali National Park Asked To Approve Placer Mining Operation At Kantishna

Three decades ago there was talk that the only discussion of mining for gold at Kantishna in Denali National Park and Preserve would be done in the vein of interpretation, but now an Alaskan man is seeking permission to develop his placer claims in an operation that seems daunting but holds the potential for a large payday if U.S. Geological Survey estimates are accurate.

Fire Island National Seashore Superintendent Chris Soller announced today the Public Scoping Comment Summary Report for the Wilderness Breach Management Plan and Environmental Impact Statement (Plan/EIS) is available on the National Park Service (NPS) Planning, Environment, and Public Comment website.
