Tomorrow's Leaders Concerned About Climate Change At North Cascades

Residential Environmental Learning Centers across the country introduce youth to national parks and the nature they hold, and give them the opportunity to better understand the issues that confront the environment. While the coronavirus pandemic postponed many active programs this year, at North Cascades Institute staff thought outside the box to keep youth in their leadership program connected with those issues.

National Park Service Limits Its Authority in Alaska National Parks

The National Park Service on Thursday released final regulations in response to a March 2019 U.S. Supreme Court decision regarding the authority the agency could wield in national parks and preserves in Alaska. The move reduced the authority the Park Service had when it comes to state, Native corporation, or private lands that fall within a park or preserve's boundaries.
