This week’s quiz will find out how much you know about archeological research and the remains of past human life and culture in our national parks. Answers are at the end. If we catch you peeking, we’ll make you write on the whiteboard 100 times: “Archeology derives from the Greek ἀρχαιολογία, archaiologia – ἀρχαῖος, archaīos and -λογία, -logia.”
East Coast viewers get a chance this holiday weekend to update themselves with national parks and monuments in the greater metropolitan area of New York City via public television station WNET, Channel 13.
An important anniversary happens this year that actually predates the National Park Service. It has been 100 years that we have had Antiquities Act in this country. This single act is responsible for a lot of the places we treasure today around the Parks.
